Duties & Responsibilities

  • Thank the guests and invite them to return
  • Seat guests appropriately and present them with the menu
  • Arrange guest seats in rotation among servers to ensure that they are given equal number of tables
  • Clean menus as required throughout the shift
  • Observe tables and take note of dirty, clean, and occupied tables
  • Ensure that the front door area is both maintained and cleaned, both inside and out. This also includes making sure the brass and windows are free of fingerprint and smudge
  • Assist the servers by refilling beverages and water, processing payment, and running food to the tables
  • Assist servers in resetting and bussing tables
  • Inform management of guests who are unhappy with the service as quickly as possible
  • Maintain composed, professional and calm attitude at all times

The Breakfast Server will be responsible for providing high-levels of customer service to all restaurant guests by providing prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials.  The Breakfast Server will perform customer service duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times, and ensure that the customers have an enjoyable dining experience.  Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the proper setting of tables, removing used dishes and place settings, assisting with cleaning duties, and comply with all restaurant policies and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure these are given to the appropriate person to execute (i.e. kitchen staff, etc.).
  • Maintain familiarity with the composition of all menu items, including items available at the bar.
  • Serve food and beverages in a professional, courteous manner in accordance with company standards.
  • Clean designated areas, in accordance with company procedures, including opening and closing routines and following hygiene requirements.
  • Clean and refill condiment sets for each table.
  • Set tables to company policy, ensuring that all items used are clean, undamaged and in a good state of repair.
  • Ensure storerooms are adequately stocked.
  • Clean tables and ensure they are cleaned as soon as it is apparent that guests have finished their food or drink with an acceptable balance between speed, yet allowing guests to finish their meal without feeling rushed.
  • Ensure that customers are correctly charged, present the bill and take payment from the customer, in accordance with the procedures of the establishment.
  • At all times to be aware of and practice good customer service, assisting the guest in any way which does not adversely affect other customers.
  • Provide exemplary guest service including attending to any customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and be familiar with emergency protocols.
  • Be continually aware of and maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress.
  • Attend meetings and training courses as required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper daily operations of concierge/front desk, servers, and server assistants
  • Possess full knowledge of Water’s Edge resources; be able to walk guests through all the entertainment options available and explain our policies to keep them safe at Water’s Edge.
  • Establish rapport with guests and promote prompt, courteous, efficient guest services
  • Organize and manage shifts
  • Assist in daily staffing, training, recruitment, and ongoing development of front-of-house staff
  • See that work is carried out in a way that minimizes risks to the health and safety of both employees and guests as well as ensures compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Facilitate communication between guests, front-of-the-house staff, supervisors, and managers
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times; understand and enforce safe work practices in a fair and consistent fashion
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Qualifications and Skills

  • One or more years in the service industry preferred
  • Experience with a cash register, a point-of-sale system, or a reservation management system
  • Must be friendly, outgoing, and able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Work schedule varies and will include working on days, nights, holidays, and weekends and requires standing and/or walking for extended periods both indoors and outdoors
